The restaurant Toqué! was founded some 12 years ago by co-owners Normand Laprise and Christine Lamarche. It quickly earned a reputation for its innovative and sophisticated gourmet cuisine. After more than a decade at its location on Saint-Denis Street in Montreal, the team moved to Toqué!’s current home at 900 Place Jean- Paul-Riopelle, in that city’s Quartier international, about two years ago. Although the chef and co-owner of Toqué! has catapulted into the ranks of the world’s leading culinary luminaries, Normand Laprise is as humbled by and committed to his art as ever.
