Un jeune ingénieur dans une entreprise québécoise de construction connue et prospère réalise qu’il s’est progressivement placé dans une situation très délicate aux plans légal et éthique. À l’instigation de son supérieur immédiat, un homme qu’il estime et à qui il doit beaucoup, ce jeune ingénieur a accepté, à de nombreuses reprises, de fausser les estimations des coûts des travaux que l’entreprise réalise pour le compte des autorités publiques. Il a aussi participé à un stratagème illégal de financement politique. Le jeune homme réfléchit à ce qu’il devrait faire et aux impacts possibles de sa décision sur sa carrière et sur ses proches.

A young engineer at a major Quebec construction company realizes that, over time, he has placed himself in a tricky legal and ethical position: at the request of his immediate superior, a man he respects and to whom he feels indebted, he has repeatedly falsified cost estimates for the public works projects his company is bidding on. The young man thinks about what he should do and the potential impact of his decision on his career and loved ones.
