Depuis 40 ans, en Amérique du Nord, les établissements de la santé cherchent à dénouer l’imbroglio de la chaîne logistique afin de faire des économies sans nuire à la qualité de la prestation de soins. Le cas suit les travaux du Comité de la séparation du coût du service de distribution du coût de produit, un regroupement de gestionnaires logistiques d’établissements de santé du Québec. Il relate les discussions du comité depuis leurs prémices jusqu’à la recherche d’un consensus sur les recommandations à formuler auprès du ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec.

For the past 40 years, healthcare institutions in North America have been trying to solve the supply chain puzzle to save money without compromising the quality of care. The case follows the work of the Committee for the Separation of the Cost of Distribution Service from the Cost of Product, a grouping of logistics managers from Quebec healthcare institutions. It recounts the committee's discussions from their beginnings to the search for a consensus on the recommendations to the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services.
