In this case study, the participant will step into the shoes of Hussain, a new local HRM manager at Dubai Caterers, a Dubai- based catering company. The case describes the organization, its performance management system, the complaints of employees and the results of Hussains assessment of the situation.
Hussain started working as HRM director for Dubai Caterers six months ago. Since his arrival, many employees have complained about the performance management system. Hussain has collected data on the evaluation criteria and the performance evaluation method used at the company. He has compiled the many complaints he has received from employees. Finally, he has carried out his own survey. Hussain is deeply dismayed by the findings. After asking around, he realizes that very few supervisors have ever attended an HRM course or seminar. As HR director, you would like to fix the situation quickly. In order to do so, you will prepare a plan before your own first performance evaluation, which is with the managing director next month, in December.
