Biomethanation of Municipal Waste
As municipal wastes become more expensive to process, while also producing greenhouse gases (GHG), composting and the biomethanation of organic wastes offer some advantages, notably by reducing the volume of wase in landfills and prodrucing potentially valuable by-products (compost and biogas). Of course, avoiding GHG emissions is another benefit. However, the business model to shift away from landfilling is therefore needed in order to set up the right business plan leading to a more sustainable municipal waste management sector.
